Privacy Policy
Short version: your images stay on your device. We never receive them, so we cannot store or share them.

Your images
Every tool on this site reads your file in the browser and writes the result back in the browser. No image, and no part of an image, is transmitted to us or to any third party.
Nothing is stored after you close the tab.
What we do collect
Anonymous usage analytics through Google Analytics, PostHog and Vercel Analytics — pages viewed, approximate region, device type and referrer.
Which tool you used, how many files you put into it, and whether it worked. If a file fails, the error we record can include its format and size. This tells us which tools people need and where they break. It never includes the images, their contents or their file names.
If you answer an in-app question, such as which price you would pay, we record the option you picked, or that you closed it, alongside the same anonymous analytics data.
Your theme and interface preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent anywhere.
What we never collect
Images, file contents, file names, EXIF data or any metadata read from your photos.
We do not record your screen or your clicks. Session recording and automatic click tracking are switched off.
We do not sell data. Advertising is run by Google and is described below.
Advertising
ImageSmith is free because it shows ads through Google AdSense. The AdSense script loads on every page.
Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your earlier visits to this site and to other sites. Your images are not part of this. They stay in your browser and are not sent to Google.
You can turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of other ad companies’ cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
Third parties
Google Analytics, PostHog and Vercel Analytics process the anonymous usage data described above. Google AdSense serves the ads. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs of page requests. Fonts are served from our own domain, not from Google Fonts.
You can block analytics and ads with any content blocker. The tools keep working — they run locally and need neither.
A correction
Until 26 September 2026, PostHog session recording and automatic click tracking were switched on. They could capture the name of a file shown on screen or on a download link — never the image itself. Both are now off.
Your rights and contact
We hold no personal data ourselves beyond anonymous analytics, so there is normally nothing for us to export or delete. Advertising data is held by Google and is managed in your Google ad settings. If you believe we hold something of yours, ask.
